ST Engineering Launches New Cybersecurity Solutions to Boost Critical Data Security and Cyber Resilience

Enhanced end-to-end portfolio of innovative cyber-secure solutions to mitigate cyberattacks in IoT, IT and OT environments

Singapore, 29 September 2021 – ST Engineering’s Cyber business today launched advanced cybersecurity solutions to provide customers with the latest critical technologies amidst evolving cyber threats and growing regulatory compliances.

It unveiled NetCrypt Mini and a new generation Data Diode, the latest network and data security control solutions aimed at helping governments and enterprises strengthen cross-domain security and defend critical systems data against cyber threats at boundaries of sensitive or classified networks.  These solutions fit seamlessly into any operating architecture, making them the ideal encryption and cross-domain solutions for organisations with critical infrastructures seeking to protect critical data flows and prevent sensitive data leakage.

ST Engineering also launched CORVA, an advanced security posture management platform and service that enables organisations to take a proactive stance to improving and maintaining cyber resilience through continuous risk and vulnerability assessments.

“Innovation is key to combat ever-evolving cybersecurity challenges and help governments and enterprises secure what matters across their IoT, IT and OT environments,” said Goh Eng Choon, President, Cyber, ST Engineering.  “NetCrypt Mini, the world’s smallest IP encryptor or hardware VPN in the market, and our new generation Data Diode complement our suite of cybersecurity products and help mitigate cyberattacks at network access and data transfer levels where anti-tampering or side-channel attacks could occur.”

”To maintain cyber resilience across various environments and effectively address cyber risk, organisations need proactive and continuous assessment of their cybersecurity posture so we created CORVA, a new native cloud-based software-as-a-service that offers 24/7 visibility, runs simulated breaches and attack sequences, identifies attack vectors and vulnerabilities, and provides remediation guidance,” added Goh.

NetCrypt Mini, the world’s smallest IP encryptor for highly secure network access

Ransomware has increased tenfold in the last 12 months1 as threat actors continue to target networks and exploit vulnerabilities and users.  At no more than 34 grams and the similar size of a thumb drive, NetCrypt Mini is the world’s smallest portable IP encryptor dongle available today.  The USB-powered NetCrypt Mini is designed for government and enterprise users to have highly secure network access to corporate resources anytime and anywhere, even on public Ethernet/IP networks or Wi-Fi networks that require registration.

With anti-tampering and security features such as multi-factor authentication, NetCrypt Mini offers full data protection with cryptographic smartcard options and customisable algorithm.

Cross-domain solution: ST Engineering’s new Data Diode for assured data flows

Designed for governments, enterprises, industrial control system operators and critical services providers, ST Engineering’s Data Diode is a unidirectional communication and data transfer gateway that enables secure transfer of critical data across physically separated networks.  Its unique design architecture protects supply chains and mission-critical networks from cyber reconnaissance and data leakage, denies unauthorised content delivery through whitelisting of network traffic, and disrupts all C2 communication by enforcing one-way information assurance.

The compact and innovative new design allows for additional stackable hardware and software to incorporate technologies from our technology partners such as Radiflow and Solace, to harness a more holistic solution for our customers.  It supports an array of IT and SCADA/ICS networking protocols for system integration and interoperability, and operates without external proxies or virtual machines installed on external hardware, lowering total cost of ownership and making it easy to deploy and maintain.

Key features:

  • Hardware-enforced one-way data transfer at both physical and protocol layers, with air-gapping to keep networks independent, to prevent data leakage
  • Separate power supply to mitigate side-channel attacks
  • Patented files loss detection capability and unidirectional Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus (SFP+)
  • High availability configuration ensures continuous operations
  • Verified high throughput of 500Mbps without file loss (no more than 1 file lost per 5 million files transferred)

Continuous Risk & Vulnerability Assessment (CORVA) to maintain cyber resilience

CORVA, an advanced security posture management platform, is designed to be an automated and continuous approach for cyber-breach simulations and 24/7 cybersecurity posture visibility, enabling organisations to take a more proactive stance towards maintaining cyber resilience across environments such as cloud, IT and OT infrastructures.

The cloud-based software-as-a-service protects vital digital assets by simulating realistic attack vectors used by malicious actors, identifying vulnerabilities in the computing and network environment, and providing prioritised remediation guidance.  Hyper-realistic threat simulations are powered by artificial intelligence and security analytics, and CORVA offers integration with existing intelligence-driven security operations centre architecture.
