Board Changes

Singapore, 16 August 2024 – Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced the appointment of Ms Lien Siaou-Sze as independent non-executive Director with effect from 26 August 2024. She brings with her a robust background in higher education, technology, and the agri-food industry.

Ms Lien Siaou-Sze, 74, is currently the Partner of Management Alignment Partners GmbH. She was recently Vice President (University Advancement) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where she played a pivotal role in promoting the university and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders. Prior to this, she served on the NTU Board of Trustees and as Chairman of the Confucius Institute, contributing to the promotion of Chinese language and culture.

In the corporate sector, she served on the board of Japfa Ltd, an Asia-based agri-food company, providing strategic guidance and insight. Ms Lien also spent time at Mobley Group Pacific as an executive coach working with senior leaders across various industries. She began her career at HP as a systems engineer, quickly rising through the management ranks across Singapore, Southeast Asia, and the entire Asia-Pacific & Japan (APJ) region. As Senior Vice President of HP APJ, Ms Lien led regional operations and strategic initiatives, driving growth and innovation. Later as Managing Director of HP APJ, she oversaw the acquisition of Compaq which led to her being placed on Fortune Magazine’s list of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Business Outside of USA”.

Ms Lien holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Nanyang University and a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Imperial College London.
