Today’s cybersecurity threat landscape is evolving at an unprecedented pace, with attacks becoming more sophisticated, targeting both digital and operational systems. In response, AI is transforming cybersecurity solutions by enabling smarter, faster, and more adaptive defences. The demand to leverage AI for protection is huge, with the AI in cybersecurity market expected to grow to a staggering US$134 billion by 2030[1]
Because conventional cybersecurity systems relied heavily on predefined rules, this limited their adaptability to new and emerging threats. In contrast, AI-driven systems leverage advanced machine learning (ML) to analyse vast datasets, detect patterns, and respond to threats autonomously. These technologies have unlocked real-time threat detection, automation of routine tasks, and even predictions for future attacks, redefining the approach to safeguarding IT, Operational Technology (OT), and cloud environments.
At ST Engineering, we are integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities across our suite of cybersecurity solutions. By bringing together expertise in digital forensics, incident response, threat research, and AI development, we’re able to create comprehensive solutions that enable our customers to to stay ahead of evolving risks while safeguarding their critical operations. Our holistic approach ensures that AI is applied effectively to meet each customer’s unique needs and tailored to diverse industries, such as, defence, homeland security, utilities and transportation.
Critical infrastructure requires a specialised approach to cybersecurity. Our Adaptive & Intelligent Cyber Monitoring for OT Systems (AICYMO) solution is designed specifically to protect OT environments, integrating data from SCADA networks, engineering workstation systems, and other sources.
By leveraging AI and ML technologies, AICYMO can identify complex patterns and anomalies across equipment logs, sensor data, and network activity. This empowers operators to gain a comprehensive understanding of threats, pinpoint vulnerabilities quickly, and respond effectively. |
For example, when deployed within an integrated water management system, AICYMO can call out irregularities in processes, networks, and endpoints, and trace threats back to their origins to prevent operational disruptions. Such capabilities are key in protecting essential services and infrastructure.
Our IT and OT Security Operations Centres (SOCs) deliver 24/7 monitoring and protection for our customers, and incorporate sophisticated threat detection, response, and mitigation strategies. Integrating AI into our SOCs has accelerated data analysis in real time, unlocked threat prioritisation and enabled us to automate investigations. This is made possible by AI Cyber Analyst - our advanced tool designed to act like a virtual cyber analyst that gathers information across multiple sources to derive context and insights.
Working alongside operators, AI Cyber Analyst swiftly identifies and retrieves relevant data or information from diverse sources to substantiate investigations. It also empowers less experienced analysts to handle complex cybersecurity challenges - like tracking threats and investigating incidents – by providing recommended actionables. By offloading these lower-level tasks, AI Cyber Analyst effectively frees up our teams to focus on more critical, advanced analysis.
To help cybersecurity operators stay on top of the evolving threats, we’ve developed our AI-enabled Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) platform, which accelerates and optimises the collection of threat intelligence from unstructured data.
Powered by our custom AI engine, it leverages natural language processing (NLP) to automatically process information from data sources such as email (IMAP), websites (HTTP), file transfers (FTP), text documents, PDFs, and data formats like STIX. Extracting key relevant entities, it then constructs dynamic knowledge datasets to keep operators informed emerging threats and issues.
As we anticipate future challenges, our focus extends beyond today’s threats to redefining the defences of tomorrow. By harnessing the transformative potential of the latest technologies, we build intelligent, adaptable, and resilient solutions that redefine what is possible in cybersecurity. Our commitment to continuous innovation ensures that our customers and their critical infrastructure remain protected against ever-evolving threats. Together with our partners and customers, we are paving the way for a safer, smarter, and more secure digital future.
