Singapore, 22 August 2024 - ST Engineering today announced that its Urban Solutions business has secured a contract to provide its enhanced AGIL® Passenger Information System (PIS) for 65 new six-car passenger trains in Australia as part of the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP). ST Engineering Urban Solutions’ contracted scope has commenced and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2030.
The QTMP will support South East Queensland’s population and economic growth, as well as the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Transforming Passenger Experience
The enhanced AGIL PIS harnesses advanced connectivity and display technology to offer a comprehensive suite of solutions. Features include the Train Traveller Information System, Passenger Announcement and Communications System, and Train-borne Wireless System designed to transform passenger experience by delivering reliable and accessible travel information to enhance overall journey satisfaction. It also incorporates the following features to improve accessibility and optimise passenger comfort and safety.
A program of the Queensland Government Department of Transport and Main Roads, the QTMP involves the design and delivery of 65 new six-car passenger trains at a purpose-built train manufacturing facility in Torbanlea, on the Fraser Coast. Trains will be maintained and stabled at a new rail facility in Ormeau, on the Gold Coast. The program brings with it a pipeline of training and development opportunities to bolster Queensland’s train manufacturing industry.
