ST Engineering's Electronics Arm Secures Contracts Worth about $424m in 2Q2015

Singapore, 20 July 2015 – Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) announced today that its electronics sector has secured about $424m worth of contracts in the second quarter of 2015 (2Q2015) for Rail Electronics & Intelligent Transportation, Satellite & Broadband Communications, as well as Advanced Electronics & Information Communications Technologies (ICT) solutions.

Rail Electronics & Intelligent Transportation
Rail Electronics & Intelligent Transportation contracts of about $55m were secured from local and overseas customers in China, India, the Middle East, North and South America and Taiwan. The projects include Command, Control and Communications (C3) Systems and Passenger Information Systems as well as integrated monitoring and surveillance systems and fleet management solutions. Work has started on these projects and will be completed progressively till end-2020.

Satellite & Broadband Communications
The electronics sector received contracts amounting to about $84m from government, telecom and enterprise users worldwide for the supply of satellite network equipment, earth stations and man-pack terminals. These include orders from Via Direta Telecom for a distance-learning network for students along the rivers of the Amazon basin, the largest programme of its kind in Brazil, as well as satellite network for government users in Asia. These projects will be delivered progressively over the next few years.

Advanced Electronics & ICT Solutions
This quarter, about $285m worth of Advanced Electronics & ICT contracts were received from both public and private sectors and will be delivered progressively over the next six years. Amongst these are contracts for Intelligent Security Management System, advanced communication and sensor systems, data monitoring system, mobile application solutions, automated metering solutions for government agencies and commercial businesses.

These contracts are not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year.
